By The Next Word IoT security certification program, the Cybersecurity Initiative, is launched.
The Cybersecurity Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is funded by the US Department of Commerce, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and other private sector organizations.
The organization has over 3,000 members in more than 100 countries and was founded in 2015 to support cybersecurity research and innovation in academia and the private sector.
The program offers certification for the following three major categories: Industrial, Information, and Industrial Networks.
The Industrial Networks category focuses on industrial security and data protection.
The Internet ofThings (IOT) category focuses primarily on industrial applications of IoT technology.
The Industry Networks certification program offers an independent and rigorous examination of cybersecurity, data protection, and security policies, tools, and practices of a wide range of industries, including consumer products, automotive, aerospace, health care, finance, education, government, health, retail, healthcare, telecommunications, healthcare management, telecommunications technology, and transportation.
The Certification Program also offers an additional certification for security of the IoT applications in the following industries: aerospace, healthcare technology, health insurance, retail retail, transportation, transportation technology, telecommunications technologies, telecommunications management, healthcare information management, and telecommunications management technology.
