Even though there are hundreds of operating systems, Capps said he has seen a significant drop in IoT devices with the introduction of the certification.
Some IoT devices use Linux, which is based on the open source Linux operating system.
One company that uses Linux is IBM.
There are also companies that use Android as the operating system for their IoT systems.
However, the certification will be different for each OS.
For example, if Microsoft’s Azure platform is used for an IoT device, the operating systems of that device will not be certified.
Instead, the devices will have to use a Linux-based operating system, such as OpenShift or Amazon’s EC2.
While the certification would require manufacturers to get their devices up and running on Linux, the certifications could help them avoid a situation where they have to switch platforms if they don’t want to.
And as the certification grows, it may eventually help businesses and organizations that use the Internet and the Internet-of, or IoT, as a platform become more secure.
According to Capps , the certification might also help companies create a platform for devices that can be used as a base for future IoT products.
Many companies are already looking at how to use the IoT as a “container” for their products.
That’s a concept that allows the device to be installed in a number of different locations.
To do that, Cappas said companies need to start thinking about how they will use the cloud and IoT as the basis for the products they want to sell.

According the Capps review, the biggest problem is that IoT devices are still in a “tipping point.”
Cappas points to a recent report from Cisco, which said about half of all IoT devices on the market are not being sold because they are not secure enough.
So, companies have to rethink their IoT plans to protect their IoT products from potential security breaches.
Is the certification process going to be easy?
CApps said he hopes the certification won’t take too long.
He said it’s expected to be a year before the certification can be completed.
Ultimately, Caps said he thinks the certification initiative will work out well for IoT companies.
“I think the IoT ecosystem will be a lot more secure when it comes down to the certification,” he said.
