BitDefence, the company that makes BitDefiance Box antivirus for the internet of things (IoT) devices, is trying to change the way it markets its product.
The company says it’s making its products more secure by giving users more control over how it uses their data.
It also says that it’s also making it easier to use.

But its security products are often slow and buggy, and its customer base is mostly white males.
It’s a good idea for the company’s existing customers, as it offers many of the same privacy features.

It then gives them the option to opt out of these privacy settings.
It states that BitDefences products have been tested and found to be 100 percent effective at protecting customers from viruses, malware, and phishing attempts.
BitDefend Box, on the other hand, includes many features that are available in other BitDefeats products, like the ability to turn on a firewall to block malicious web sites from connecting to BitDefieres services, and the ability for users to control the size of their data and files.
These include passwords, email addresses, credit card information, payment information, browser history, and so on.
It could change over time.
Or, it could make BitDefreak Box safer if it offers an opt-out mechanism for its users.
Either way, it’s an important step in BitDeferds efforts to help improve security on the internet and to better understand the ways in which our personal data can be used to spy on us.
